Special achievements under the administration of Mayor Frederick L. Yates include the Winfall Landing Park, which will soon include a future site for a proposed municipal building. This building will house the Administrative Offices, Police Department, and a Community Center. Other accomplishments under Yate's administration include a new sewer system and the newly erected Wetland which is a project of the Resource Conservation and Development Council and the North Carolina Northeast Natural Gas. Friendship Gardens are in the making and will begin to crop up all over the town due to the efforts of some of the Town's senior ladies. Crepe myrtles and North Carolina Beauties will also adorn a couple of the main streets of Winfall. This is being done in cooperation with the Department of Transportation.
